games crash on my pc regularly is it graphics card or something else?

i have replaced my motherboard from an asrock to an NF4 (asus a8n-e) updated my motherboard bios, changed graphics card from a 6600gt agp to a 7800gt pci-e, changed my memory

the games when they crash just totally restart my machine with no stop errors and nothing in system managment

it doesnt seem to be heat related

im all out of ideas now?

mods if this post is in wrong place could you move it as appropiate

Could you post more details such as psu and memory timings as well as whether the computer is overclocked at all.

machine is not overclocked (apart from gcard as its oc as standard)
memory timings are at default settings in bios
psu is a 550 w (cant remember make)
could it be a CPU issue? even thou it isnt overheating

games i have installed are trackmania, COD2 and fear, COD 2 i have tried with both dx7 and 9 and same thing happens
only game that so far hasnt crashed is trackmania

i have re-installed windows so many times over the last month or so, so i dont think thast the issue i have also tried different gcard drivers and still same thing

Is it random? What are current temps? Does it only happen during gaming ?

Would also like more details regarding the PSU as my first suspicion is that this might be the cause if it is of low quality.

Just checking, I imagine you plug the 4 o six pin adaptor to the gc. Otherwise I agree with malccy, enough juice may not be getting to the card.

My 550w qtec gold dual fan psu did the same to me last week and got steadily worse. It is a cheap and cheerful psu though. I now have a new arctic cooling case with a seasonic 450w psu and it's very quiet.

I reckon dodgy psu's are flavour of the month at the mo.

Are you able to swap in another psu ?

Thats how i knew it was the psu on my computer and not heat related.

had the same problem with mine it was the g/c send it back.stay well away from qtec go for seasonic 500 or the T1 case.hint hii=nt look what ive got in the t1 and no psu upgrade!

Check your memory with MEMTEST86. If I get a problem like you have thats the first thing I check. Goto the the site below, download the file, make a bootable floppy and boot from it.

www.memtest86.com

Let it run and wait for the errors to appear.
