Games crashing to desktop!

Okay ive just upgraded to a BFG 8800gts and games keep crashing to desktop C&C3, Fear and HL2 Lost Coast, the worrying thing is this happened to some games last time I had an Nvidia card (7800GS AGP) i never had these probs with my previous x800 and x1950pro. Is there something that is Nvidia specific that im missing or not doing properly I just cant get it stable? Im using XP Pro 32bit.

C&C3 gives a game.dat error HL2 Lost Coast and Fear just crash to desktop with no error!

CPU temps idle at 35ish the GPU is 71-72 at idle which seems quite high, temps taken from everest.

Any help ideas appreciated thanks.

Obviously it's dependent on your case temps but average idle temps are around the mid to high 60's & a few touching 70 odd, these are perfectly normal temps for your card at idle .

Not a RAM problem, i've tested it with memtest86+, these problems only started when when I installed the 8800gts.

Power shortage ( try moving stuff to a different rail? ) ?

yeah keep trying different drivers, WHQL only.

or try the ones that came on CD first.

cheers guys, I tried the power on a different rail but no luck, so I've just uninstalled the drivers and run driver cleaner, deleted all temp files etc. I will report back and let you know how it goes.
