I finally bought a DS lite and I've spent a while looking over old reviews to see which games I should start off my collection with.

I've mainly been looking at RPG's and strategy type games. I bought Advance Wars Dark Conflict when I got the DS and I'm basically looking for some recommendations on which RPG's to go for.

Got to be a Final Fantasy game or two but which? There seems to be about a dozen.

Also any other good strategy games which have some depth to them? and maybe a couple of arcadey type games which have plenty of replay value.

Recommendations please!

I could never get on with the Phoenix wright games, just seemed weird and repetitive to me.

Any ways my personal favs on the ds have been, mario and luigi partners in time, dragon quest joker, and puzzle quest:warlords.

Just started fft2 which is not too shabby ;]

Not sure if we're allowed to talk about naughty stuff here, but have a look for a r4 ;] best purchase i've made in ages ;p

Lunar Knights, Zelda Phantom Hourglass, Mario and Luigi - Partners in time, Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings, The World Ends With You.

Lots more..

The World Ends With You, Ninja Gaiden, Tetris DS, Trauma Centre, Final Fantasy Revenant Wings, New Super Mario Brothers are among my Favorite games at the moment.

Also the best game for the DS is Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow.

The reviews of The World Ends With You sound amazing, definitely going to get that. Along with Final Fantasy IV and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow

Going to hold off on the classic nintendo stuff like Mario platformers for a while and I already have Puzzle Quest for the PC.

Thanks for the suggestions, those should keep me busy on the train for the next month or so.

The world ends with you is a brilliant game. I didnt think it was going to be as good as it is. The only Downfall is the storyline (bear in mind im at the very begining).

You start off as a Teen with a bad attitude and it does get a little tedious at the begining. But the combat is brilliant imo. Recommend it to anyone.

I just bought myself a Red DS with Final Fantasy III, brilliant game and loving it, also got Guitar Hero On Tour but cant pla it until i go on Holiday.
