Games for a low spec PC?

OK so after getting my old PC up and running again I wouldn't mind getting a couple of games for when SWMBO is watching the telly and I can't get on the xbox

My spec-

Celeron 2.6GHz
1GB RAM
Geforce 6800XT

So what would you recommend that is playable on the above?

Legend of Mir 3

If you like those sorts of games, that is. Seems like there's going to be plenty of OcUKers playing it as well

HL2 and all it's mods should play pretty nicely on that as well.

Pretty much anthing before year 2005/2006 should be playable. Helps to know what type of games you like as well.

Battlefield 1942/vietnam, css, cod2, ut2004, thats off the top of my head, sould be a lot more great games you can play.

Resisting the urge to say Red Alert...blatently failed there.

I think COD4 will run on your system as well, albeit on low settings. I'd also recommend the pre-TF2 source games (CSS, DODS). Left 4 Dead may also run, but I'm not 100% sure of that one. Same with TF2, no guarantees.

L4d will play on that probably. Im playing on a fx5600 at the minute. Its not going to look pretty though
