Hi there

I am helping run a charity casino/ games night. We already have a company coming in to run the casino part, but we have a large space so need some side- games. I have a bit of budget for this too.

It’s all for a charity supporting conservation of and rebuilding orangutang habitats in Borneo.

Does anyone have any good ideas for such fund-raising side-games? So far I have found:
  • A magician to do close-up magic to small groups in exchange for tips going to the charity
  • A box game where you buy a box, some have low- value prizes, no prizes, high value prizes (They are being donated), and at some point we open them to reveal the winners etc.
  • A spot-the-ball- style ‘Spot The Orangutang’ game
It’s hard to find good ideas on Google so open to ideas.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Our company party one Xmas was a funfair theme with a small casino set up too.

Having silly games like a coconut shy meant people got a little bit competitive, might boost your fund raising if people are trying beat their mates etc and have to pay a small fee to have a go.

Tombolas and raffles are quite common at these type of events, although I think the OP's box idea sounds more exciting :-)

Can any of this be kid-friendly? I was thinking along the lines of face painting, puppets (either puppet making or a puppet show), making animals out of balloons, costume contest and so on. This would obv be in a different section away from the casino.

Thanks all - It's not a kids event so needs to be adult stuff.

One idea I read about was a wildcard auction where we see if there is anything participants can bring to donate/ auction and mix this in to auctioning prizes we have sourced elsewhere.

We did a darts raffle at our work party; darts board and a range of prizes with raffle ticket numbers on from 1-180. Better prizes for higher numbers etc. Could charge a quid or two for 3/5 goes or something, just depends if there's somewhere suitable to put it.

Anything with a games console? TrackMania is pretty basic/simple for having a fastest time leaderboard.
