I'm starting to see a lot of titles that are being released for both current gen consoles this year and then next gen consoles possibly next year, I'm not exactly sure what to do myself yet but I thought I'd ask a few of you and see. Is it worth waiting for the next gen versions of these games? Will be there be any big differences outside of graphics? Some of the titles I'm talking about:

Watch Dogs
Battlefield 4
Call of Duty: Ghosts
Diablo III (Possibly this year hasn't been confirmed)

Watch Dogs is the big one, I haven't been this excited about a non fighting game for a long time and I'll definitely be getting either the Dedsec or Vigilante edition but just really torn between current gen and next gen.

Nope.

If you're planning to get one of the new consoles early on, you probably won't have much choice. It's quite likely that these late 'current-gen' games will be more refined than the early 'next-gen' efforts, so they could be some of the best games on the systems at the start, despite not making use of the new power for anything but visual enhancements.

Right now it's hard to say because we haven't been shown or told what the differences are. It could just be that the next-gen versions have improved visuals and performance, but it's also quite feasible that they'll add additional content or make the game technically more impressive (e.g. bigger maps with more players).

I'm inclined to wait until I have a PS4 for any games that are going to be on both current and next-gen consoles. I don't really want to be playing the inferior version, and it'll be easier to come back and play them again in a few years time when my PS3 probably won't still be set-up.

Until there's some actual information about the next-gen consoles and the games though, there's not a lot you can do. Those games are months away anyway, plenty of time left to make a decision.

I'm waiting until I know more about the drm / accounts/ no trading set up the consoles will have, and what kind of backwards compatibility will be provided (I.e. will I have to buyy games again from an online store) considering how skeptical I am of the new consoles I will probably massive cba jumping to the new consoles and just game on pc and 360 still.

I will wait for BF4 as I think/hope it will be closer to the PC version. Hmm there aren't many games that I really want now this gen with the exception of The Last of Us, Beyond: Two Souls and GTAV. If MS announce Rockstars game as a launch title for the new Xbox then I'll have some serious thinking to do!

I'll probably get Diablo III on this gen as I don't think I'll be buying the PS4 at launch.

With BF4 it depends when the next gen version gets released.
