Games for onboard graphics

Board is the ASROCK Conroe945G
(Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950, Pixel Shader 2.0, DirectX 9.0 and Max. shared memory 192MB)

I've got the exact same board, and am using the onboard GMA950.

Games I play (and get good performance):

PES6
Warcraft 3
World of Warcraft (although don't go raiding)
C&C Generals
Quake 3
Freelancer
Starcraft (inc Brood War)

Probably the most demanding is World of Warcraft, which I run 1024x768 with medium settings. It WON'T take 40 man raiding, so don't try. But the frames are well in the thirties when questing.

Just make sure you give it plenty of shared RAM in the BIOS. Or it will get very upset, very quickly. :)

Broken sword 1 and 2 should run on it. In fact, you might find that Fahrenheit would run on there.
Fahrenheit worked with an FX5200 for me. Some onboard graphics are probably BETTER than an FX5200.

Try these classics

Baldur's Gate with Tales Of The Sword Coast

Baldur's Gate Two with Shadows Of Amn

IceWind dale

Half Life should run easly I used to run it on onboard graphics on a acient PC.

I used to play Deus Ex on a Voodoo 3 3000 so that may also run fine.

Deus Ex will run fine. I used to play it on one of those dreaded SiS boards with SiS intergrated graphics and the Intel one is several levels above that.

Just tried Civ 3 on my lappy (specs above) and that works well too. Downloading the Civ 4 demo nw and will get back to you on that

I have a MacBook with onboard Intel graphics, I've installed Windows XP (bootcamp) and have the following games installed and they all play very well at 1024x768 (at least)

Counterstrike 1.6
Condition Zero
Half Life 1
Half Life 2
Day of Defeat
Battlefield 1942
Warcraft 3
Quake 3
Wolfenstien E.T.
Sims 2 (for the GF)

Gonna put some RTS's on next :D

I play Warcraft 3 on my AMD Sempron, 256MB and onboard graphics and it works just fine on default settings. It can slow down a little if there's a lot going on, but nothing too crippling. Even if you don't play it online, the campaign is one of the best RTS campaigns I've ever played.

Civ 3 should run perfectly. I also heartily recommend Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri if you don't mind a steep learning curve.

The original Sims and its expansions can be entertaining.

And I can't believe no-one's mentioned this so far: THEME HOSPITAL! You can get it for a fiver.

You could buy one of those cheapie 'thousand game' CDs. There's usually a couple of tolerable ones. The game with the asteroids? Tetris?

Urg. I've a feeling I've just gone back to before I was born..

;)

Um, Black-and-White, and the various tycoons - rollercoaster, zoo etc.

counterstrike source is largely playable. hell i've managed for nearly a year with my onboard x300. system shock II runs....shockingly....well. groan.
