Games for Windows LIVE - Marketplace - just how bad is it?

OK - I have 3000 Microsoft Points - £26 worth which I am waiting to spend on something.

I have been looking at the games on Games for Windows LIVE Marketplace and really, what is going on with it.

At the moment their "Deal of the Week" is Assassins Creed Brotherhood Deluxe for £39.99. The most recent game they have is RIfT AOH CE - released 24/10

The selection of games is tiny and the prices are high. For some reason they also have a load of games that are just unavailable in the UK. I somehow ended up on the US version of the site (where the prices are much lower) the other day and tried to order Crysis2 - I was told it wasn't available in my region!

Oh, and their recommended games?

A list of 5 games - but you can only buy two of them?

It is a total joke, but you could get Gears Of War though, it really is great on the PC, has the extra chapters as well. It is in the marketplace somewhere, people still play online as well, including me.

Is that because the last three are EA games so probably only available on Orgin?
