Games for Windows website relaunched

I've said this before, but Steam's whole aim is to do digital distribution, and do it right. GFWL is just a microsoft department somewhere that's been told to slap something up so that MS can say they have a presence in digital games distribution. The people in that department either :

a) don't care if it succeeds or not
b) know steam is already doing it far better and there's no point in competing.

That's why GFWL sucks :)

GFWL is so late to the digital distribution party that when they turned up with their bottle of flat low-alcohol lager (which they tried to charge for) they found the party in full swing, and all the gamers at the party were having too much fun with Steam and its dozens of crates of premium beer served by attractive young ladies to care about GFWL.

My grip with them is that they has so much time and resources to get it right but they never did which just shows their level of commitment, it's just another finger in the pie for Microsoft. Steam wasn't perfect either and had plenty of issues when it was launched but they worked on them and most of them were addressed relatively quickly.

Some of the prices on there are beyond even Steam levels of insanity.

£39.99 for 007 Bloodstone, £34.99 for Dirt 2. Is GFW destined to always be the brand with no common sense?

EDIT

The answer to that is of course yes - Batman AA £34.99, Batman AA GOTY £29.99.

Football Manager 2010 £29.99, this is too easy :p.

That's not any worse than Steam. CoD 1 is 20 euros, CoD 2 is 20 euros, CoD 4 is 25 euros.

MW2 is 60 euros. Yes £50 for a 2009 game.

Hrm, in order to continue using my GFWL account I have to go to the xBox Live website and agree to the changes in the terms of use of xBox Live....

They also haven't changed their client nor have they made it possible to add friends or talk with them outside of games.

Well done GFWL team!
