Not sure where to post this as I'm not sure what component it is, but I think it's the motherboard.
Been having this problem for about a week or two now. Basically, all of my games freeze and my programs become non-responsive. I've also encountered slower boot up times than I previously had.
Also, A week before these problems started occurring, I cleaned out the graphics card's heatsink as the graphics card was overheating. I really don't think this is related to the problem but I found it a bit strange that these problems started only a week after I had done that.
Specs:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T @ 3.20GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
Graphics card: ATi Radeon HD 4850
HDDs: Western Digital Caviar Blue 160GB, Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
I've used memtest86 and it told me that my memory had over 1,000,000 errors. I ordered new RAM (I wanted new RAM anyway) and put it in and it was still showing errors. The errors appear at test #7 which is a block move test or something similar to that. I've tried switching the RAM into different slots in the motherboard, but I still encountered errors.
I'm pretty sure my motherboard is faulty. I only bought it a few months ago so it still has warranty. I was just wondering if there was anyone here who could help me and verify that it is indeed the motherboard. Not sure what else it could be to be honest.
Also, if it is the motherboard, has anyone had experience with Gigabyte's RMA service? Just wondering how long it could take them.
Thanks!
