Games from the US compatable?

Just wondered if I can buy games from the US (NTSC format) and run them on my very English PC? :confused:

Yes, but from the moment you start playing you have to sacrifice the letter u from numerous words, begin and end every sentence with "Dude" and if its a shooter you have to make sure to "accidently" shoot allies from time to time

On a more sensible note, you shouldnt have any troubles, I have imported many games over the years.

PC games are not region coded and do not comply with PAL and NTSC formats.

I had a game once that wouldn't install until I changed my PC region to America. Changed it back after install and it still ran fine. That was a while ago tho and only one game (I think it was AvP but not even slightly sure).

Yes, you shouldn't have any problems at all. I have heard of problems with certain CDs being region coded, but that doesnt seem to affect barely anybody so you shouldnt hav to worry about it. Also, remember when downloading patches etc that you have the American and not English version of the game, if there is a difference.

Of course if you buy subscription or realm/server based games like World of Warcraft or Lord Of The Rings online, your client will be US only and wont connect to the european realms. LOTRO even has a different developer for the Euro market than it does for US.

I'm more into the Shoot em ups and racing sim games, thinking about getting Rainbow six vegas or something like that next. The main reason I wanted to know was that iRacing should be out this year or early next year and not sure if they plan on selling it over in the UK

Definitely shouldn't have many, if any, problems. I moved here from Canada and brought all my games with me. All my window's settings are UK except for my keyboard and I haven't had any problems.

PS: UK keyboards are strange.

Don't worry, my mom txt me to say she's going to her concert (in south africa).
The crime rate is kinda high there, so if were lucky, some hijacker will knock her off for ya!

ha! It's true though. Hard to get used to when you touch type. Fortunately, I have my Canadian G15 so I don't have to deal with it too often.
