Hi guys :D

My newly built pc keeps crashing in games - for example, BF2 ( i know its notorious for crashing, but hey ho) crashes at the same time all the time.

Its me 1st time using an nvidia card (7900gto) and am using the latest drivers, is there any way to get previous drivers to try that out?

Cheers :)

Edit - C&C3 also crashes - using latest patch :)

Edit 2 - CSS crashes midgame also :(

The thing that happens when it crashes - on all games is like a sound loop.

Its constantly looping, and cant alt + tab out or escape , etc - pc has to be turned off.

I get this also but i go back to desktop after about 5 seconds of sound loop. Games like css and tf2 and grid all do it. Changed ram, added more ram, upped voltage to ram, changed northbridge voltage too, nothing cures it. If i come across a solution ill come back to you.

Try some older drivers from the nvidia website. Do an advanced search to get older versions. Also check to see if there's any record in the event log.

When i had this years ago, it was due to daemon tools getting disc read errors and then causing my PC to crash with a sound loop/screech or BSOD. Also Nvidia Drivers can cause this, it stopped for me after like 77 or something. As well as dodgy RAM. But unmount all drives and turn daemon tools/alcoho off and see what happens. Look in Event log to see if there are errors (these ones will show up there)

I do have Deamon tools installed but not running. The message i was getting from windows was......
The Instruction at "0x00010109" referenced memory at "0x09da18a1". The Memory could not be "written"

will check event log now

Nothing in event log. Ive noticed i cant even use windows movie maker. Can load in a clip, but as soon as i load a few clips in the timeline it just closes. Ive noticed in the task manager that the page file usage never changes. Is that normal? This is buggin me now!!! lol

The games dont crash as often as movie maker. Just looked at the page file, it does go up as i open more programs. Might try running on just 1 gig of ram?

between the red lines is moviemaker running for all of 50 secs then quits. I can still play games but it does it randomly.

I had the same problems as you with Games crashing with a continues looping sound, turned out a stick of my OCZ had died, I'd grab yourself a copy of Memtest just to make sure.
