Hey guys

For about 3 days now for some reason when i play any game it keeps minimizing randomly. I play a lot of FPS games and its driving me mad.

No specific combination of keys cause it and i dont have any notifications on the desktop or any hint of what just caused my game to minimize. The games haven't crashed and still work fine when i re open them.

As i have been typing this post the cursor for text dissapears and when i type windows makes that chimey noise as if your trying to do something when you cant.

Help? :(

Do you have any devices connected through USB?

Sometimes my phone when connected to charge would randomly minimize the game I was in.

Have you installed any new software recently that may have coincided with these issues?

I would run msconfig to check that everything that runs on startup looks legitimate.

Also check add/remove programs to see if anything is installed that you don't recognise.

Finally I would run Malwarebytes / Combofix to ensure there isn't some malware running in the background that is trying to do something and thus minimising your games.

This has started to happen to me recently, i was not sure if it was the new amd card (new ccc drivers) i installed. But now someone has mentioned teamviewer it may be the update to teamviewer 8 that is doing it.

It always happens in diablo 3 but does not happen in quake live or bf 3.

No problems with Teamviewer here, but I do disable the 'share application' link you get on each window.

I had this issue and think I have tracked it down to having Citrix Receiver running. As long as I close it in the system tray the issue seems to go away.

If it's not that for you then what I was doing was running procmon and just getting it to log thread and process activity. Then either have it on a second monitor or up on your screen before you run the game. Then when the game minimises have a look to see what was causing activity at the time.

If the same thing keeps doing similar activity around the time it happens, then that's a good suspect.

You will probably find it is logging too much, or there are things you are sure aren't causing it, if so you can tell procmon not to monitor those so there is less noise to deal with.

Also check your event logs for what's going on around that time.
