Are there any games similar in idea to C&C Generals Skirmish Mode? I've been replaying it, and it's good fun but now completed all the maps and there's not much re-play value.

I miss C&C Generals - I've wasted so much time trying to get it to run on Windows 10 (and even 7, if I remember correctly). Is that still an issue with it?

Runs fine on 7 for me. I'd like to be able to do a 7 Brutal vs 1 but I just can't manage it. Did 5 v 1 but 6 is impossible - so 7 is a complete waste of time!

I recently played through it on Windows 10 via the Origin client. Worked fine for me.

I tried playing the c&c games on origin also on windows 10 and couldn't get them to play either there was sound and no picture or I got a error message on c&c 2 saying I needed a mouse lol

I found it a problem on my old installation CD but I bought a new copy recently in a sale and it works perfectly.

Hi all.
Rise of the reds mod for generals is a great option to refresh the game.
It works with the zero hour expansion.

For those who play do you still get the game mismatch when playing multiplayer?
That really bugged me as I love generals.

It's such a shame EA first messed up then killed this franchise. It's always puzzled me why they did this.

C&C was my favourite RTS series bar the awful C&C4. How did it all go so wrong for C&C?

8-bit Armies is done by some of the same developers.

You can also get a free version of Red Alert from cncnet.org which is truer to the original than openra, but maybe check out both versions and see which you prefer?

Yep there forthcoming release Forged Battalion has some interesting new concepts and could wet that C&C appetite.

I believe there is a group of individuals which have modded all the C&C games so they worn on new OS's and got private servers up and running for multiplayer too. if you find it let me know as i was planning on installing it and forgot.

Does Generals allow for a decent screen resolution? I think there was a small max setting on it.

Used to love Generals + ZH, played it for years. Seeing how many brutal AI you could take on. C&C3 was the last decent one, after that I gave up.
