Hi All,

i fancy building up some sort of evil empire and killing some innocents!.. soo, are there any newish game sout there that are along the lines of Dungeon keeper?

i heard that Overlord is probably the closest to it? not played it though! could that be recomended?

Dk came to an end for me when they cancelled DK3... much to my dissapointment, castle building and reaking havok above land seemed like a brilliant idea :(

Evil Genius was another try, but let down by having campaigns that were way too long (and not enough of them).

Overlord is just brilliant. Bought and completed it, and it's a really good fun game.

Have you tried both Dungeon Keeper 2 and 1? Also there's the addon for the first game.

I really wish EA would pay Mr Molyneux money and get him on board for a Dungeon Keeper 3. Then again if the guy has any sense at all he would steer clear.

ohh nice. thanks :D

anymore for anymore?

or even any other god games that are worth a bash!?

i've not played the 2nd one - played the first but didnt complete! just enjoyed it a huge lot! :p

i agree :p he should do it regardless tbh! just so we can play it! :D

The second one is better IMO. Not a lot of changes to the actual gameplay, except it's far more polished and there's a lot more content.

will see if i can get my mitts on a copy of the 2nd one, overlord ive seen at £9.99 in jersey :) specialoffer, so if its good ill go buy it :)

what's the newest OS that Dungeon Keeper 2 works on? does it work ok in dosbox? or do you need to run a full vm with 98se on it for it?

I remember playing dungeon keeper 2 :)

I found the cd the other day and was going to install it, but I searched and saw screenshots and decided against it :( (put on nwn instead)

Know what you mean. I'm no graphics whore, but there's still a limit for what I can put up with:D

ive just ordered it for £3 :D lol... that'll keep me entertain for a while, ven if its for one day id be happy with spending £3 :p

Been happily playing DK1 and DK2 in Vista HP x64 with compatibility mode on :)

I can play DK2 in Vista-32 without bothering with compatibility. DK1 certainly plays on XP, but not tried it on Vista.

As for graphics, I can live them - the original is still the best though. Except for the Deeper Dungeons add-on.

cool

i don't care about graphics with old games, i still play UFO : Enemy Unknown, love the midi music when you engage them in flight :)

graphics are secondary, so long as things are identifyable and look like their meant too.. who cares :P

graphics are for rich people!

same, Games i loved playing back in the day have a special place where Il never stop playing them

I still go back to the dungeon keepers, Xcom games, fallout 2, baldurs gate etc

Why dont you try playing Black and White,a nd Black and White 2? You can play an evil god if you wish! There's building, and pet training, and fireballs! Plus it's made by the same guy who made DK. Molyneux is a god himself.

Found Black and White too frustrating. Very hard to get into as they were so long winded. However there is a hell of a lot to do!

DK though is superb. DK2 is pretty near a perfect game for me and the graphics are fine and recognisable now. I almost feel sorry for the imps somtimes for the amount of slapping they get!
