Games like Gunship 2000

Many years ago I used to play a game called gunship 2000 on the amiga 500.
Does anyone know of a modern day game like that?

I loved it on the Playstation Though, it was called plain 'Gunship'.

Comanche 4 if you want something a bit arcadey, I gave it a whirl (npi!) a year or so back and it seemed OK.

As stated before Commanche vs Hokum and also try its predecessor, Apache vs Havoc.

They were awesome games and not particularly that easy either, both games really showed off the true vulnerabilities of helecopters and also the tactical brilliance behind them.

Not very easy flying about in an apachy when theres a Mig-29 10,000 ft above you, pinging your radar The game demonstrates this very well, which is why it is utterly criticle to make use of terrain to shadow yourself from enemy radar and have a strong understanding of helecopter based defensive and offensive tactics.

Excellent chopper games indeed. Hours of decent fun to be had. It doesnt actually have a high learning curve either!

EA/Janes Longbow 2 was the spiritual successor to Gunship 2000 but unfortunately not available any more or Win XP/Nvidia friendly even if you could track down a 2ndhand copy.

Black Shark is tempting but not while it has Starforce copy protection!

Ive got a copy laying some where. Along with janes F15 Massive manuals for them Just bought black shark i'd recomment it even after only playing it for 5 minutes.

Is it just a Flight Sim or is there more to it? Is it online? Co-op/multiplayer?

Looks like the helicopter equivalent of Lock On : Modern Air Combat, so I expect it's quite realistic in the way it plays.
