Games like pharaoh?

Looking for something along the lines of Pharaoh, can be old or new/ future or past setting.

Something nice and city building but different to the sim cities if you know what i mean

Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile made by the same the same developer as the above games. Basically pharaoh 2 but serria own the pharaohs name now.

I could never get into Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile after playing Pharaoh or Caesar 3. But I thoroughly enjoyed Emperor rise of the middle kingdom, that was just as good as the other two titles that I mentioned, just make sure that you patch it.

Just pharaoh and ceasar 3 are really alike, all others are cheap imitations

Shame they messed up Ceasar 4 a bit by not letting you build zones anymore but single houses.

U played the cleopatra expansion for pharaoh ?

There is Zeus as well but, for me, it was too 'cartoony'

ohh yeah ive seen Zeus in ths shops a few times, thought about getting it then changed my mind!

im quite liking the idea of C4 though... i loved C3

but i thought the army controlling was a bit pants

always loved the Romans though.. and that general era!

Glory of the Roman empire got some good aspects!

As for Zeus, it does look a bit childish but its been pretty nicely done and is worth giving a go. Gotta warn though that its not totally realistic as there is an element of Greek mythology in it(summoning heroes,creatures etc) but it should be a major fun to any city building fan!

I did read about a recent game called Imperium Romanum but I'm not sure if that would fall in the category of a traditional city building game or only contain certain aspects of that style of playing..?

I agree with enjoying the Roman theme to the city building genre as seen in C3, although I also really enjoyed Pharaoh and Cleo. I was very disappointed though when they released C4, it did seem such a let down.
