Games like Quake or Doom with campaign on Steam?

Wolfenstein The New Order and Old Blood.
Singularity.
Bioshock Remastered Trilogy
Dishonored 1 & 2
Serious Sam3 BFE

Also for £20 a year get Origin Access from EA its a bargain for which you'll get:

Titanfall 2 and BF1 both of which have excellent single player campaign modes.
All Crysis games
Both Mirrors Edge games

Titanfall 2 has a particularly memorable single player campaign, probably the best I've played in recent years. Looks and runs lovely as well.

I got bored of the new Wolfenstein. I mean it's pretty and has some interesting story bit it just didn't hold my attention for more than a few hours.

This post has made me think I quite fancy playing Quake 2 again though.

Dishonoured was good and I wholeheartedly recommend the first Bioshock.

Good suggestion :)

Shadow Warrior 2 (2016) was abysmal.

Really? How so? I thought it was fantastic, one of my favourite games so far this year for just pure fun gameplay. Great looking game too.

Alien Rage is a good FPS although it has some serious difficulty spike issues for me.
Spec Ops: The Line is half decent with an interesting story.
RAGE is also a great game if you missed it.

Painkiller series is 2004-2012 on sale on Humblebundle. Great game & great metal music. Would be around £60 on steam.
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/painkiller-complete-pack £11.99 for:

The Painkiller Complete Pack includes:

  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: City Critters
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Demonic Vacation at the Blood Sea
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Full Metal Rocket
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Heaven's Above
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Medieval Horror
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Operation "Zombie Bunker"
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: Satan Claus DLC
  • Painkiller Hell & Damnation: The Clock Strikes Meat Night
  • Painkiller Overdose
  • Painkiller Redemption
  • Painkiller Resurrection
  • Painkiller: Black Edition
  • Painkiller: Recurring Evil

Another vote for DOOM. Runs amazingly well & looks/sounds good. Only downside is some backtracking.

Wolfenstein games and the first and third Bioshocks would be on my list. Crysis 3 was enjoyable even if the story is daft.
