Games like rainbow six

just thinking would like to pick up a new game in the vein of the old rainbow six games.

essentially a massive thinking game which preferably i can plan things per mission (as opposed to a massive campaign)

since i do not have much free time to play games, so i would prefer something where i can plan things, save it and see if it works (ala rainbow six) pick up and go where i wont forget my grand strategy or things a few days later when i return to the game.

i also prefer games where i just plan things then execute them and sit back and watch rather than participate in the action.

anyone tried hearts of iron 2:doomsday? looks interesting to me.

hitman, blood money looks good to me and i have enjoyed the series but not sure if how well it will run on my system. and not quite what I want.
 
i did play swat 4 for a while till i got annoyed that i couldnt shoot to kill. having to hit them 2-3x with a bean bag while it takes one hit from them to kill me annoyed me. i never understood why you are allowed to equip assault rifles if you cant use them but use a sniper rifle to kill them.

was fun and interesting but there were some other AI issues in it which also annoyed me. mainly the challenge them to surrender button sometimes didnt seem to work.
