Games like Zelda / Darksiders...

The games I've enjoyed the most are the Zelda and Darksiders series - i.e. action RPGs with elements of customisation / progress.

(I realise Zelda has no customisation, but I like the "get this item from the dungeon to get to the next location" kinda thing, as well as some puzzle elements).

In terms of hours played, I'd say the following are my "most played games":

WoW
Zelda (all, including BoTW)
Darksiders (all)
Destiny 2
Fallout (all)
Torchlight (I and II)
Diablo 3
Borderlands

I'm specifically hoping that the following new(ish) releases might help scratch the itch?

Remnant
Monster Hunter World
Horizon Zero Dawn
Outriders
Biomutant (not released yet I realise)

Are all of those going to appeal? (This was my shortlist from a quick Google)

Jedi Fallen Order is somewhat similar to what you're looking for, albeit with a much heavier focus on platforming.

Shadowman was recently remastered and can be had on Steam for ten bucks, a little bit clunky by todays standards but still an excellent game in the Zelda/Darksiders vein.

Brutal Legend is worth a play, features Jack Black and is more comedy orientated but still a good game.

Dragons Dogma might fit the bill, I'd recommend looking up some gameplay.

Remnant From Ashes is an excellent game, but I'd say it's more akin to a souls game than something like Zelda or Darksiders.
 
Completed HZD and it was pretty good!

Combat was a little simplistic (I played on Hard) and skills trees were a bit boring, but it's a beautiful game with an awesome story!

Didn't grab me enough to bother with NG+, although I did start an Ultra Hard NG+.

Giving Remnant a whirl now...
 
just realised I have darksiders 2 and darksiders remastered on epic

dont really know much about the franchise
