Was just thinking do you think us games just seem to loose interest in games so quickly.

Remember not to long ago all the talk about big games like Bioshock and Gears of War.

Now they are never really talked about and cost pretty much next to nothing to purchase !

Even Halo 3 which is about a month old now, seen it for about £20 end hand already !

Just seems crazy as some of these games take years to develope. Was watching the Jade interview about Assasins Creed and they had about 160 people at one point taking 3 years to develope, and then guys here just complete it in a few hours !!!

I wonder how much of the market people who post in this kind of forum make up? We hear of people bying a title, playing it and then buying another one next week, but I think that for the majority of the market (the non-'core), games get a little more play out of them.

Exactly. I look at how many games we've all played (from our gamertags) and it's 50/60+ (or even 100/200+) for some of us yet the figures MS publish for attach rates is 5/6. We're far from typical.

Yeah I thought I'd check out my 9 year old nephews GT to see how many games would be attached to his account as he got his last year for xmas. Without the ones i've lent him 20 games

I think the modding may have bought the attach rate avergae down. I doubt there is many people in the 50/60k plus score that has a geniune disc.

They must really regret sticking a dvd drive in the 360 now.

My friends on 56k and he buys all his games, but he does trade them back in once he's done with them :p

.
I just play the game, sell it on the bay and then move onto the next title :p
It has to be particularly special, with replay value for me to keep it.
Atm my static games list for the 360 consists of PGR4, PES7 (for my brother, honest), GOW and Halo 3.

Perhaps thats why they don't really have the online discussions like in the PC games bit, we dont hold onto them for long enough for a continued discussion. This added to the fact that console games are what they are and nothing more, pc games however get mods, patches, addon's, expansions, so on and so forth so tend to have a longer life cycle.
This isnt the case so much for ps3 i guess, but xbox most defninitely a game will have a fixed lifespan due to no hdd as standard for additional content
