Games minimising to the task bar on launch.

This is getting ridiculous as many games when launched immediately minimise to the taskbar and I can hear them running there.

The latest Elder Scrolls v: Legendary.

I think I have only managed to resolve this once with a game but normally I give up and uninstall.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
 
Nearly annoying as Square Enix games like Outriders and Thief leaving the taskbar showing on the screen if you choose to have the taskbar anywhere other than the bottom of the screen. Having to set it to autohide just to play these games is tedious.
 
Found this in a Youtube comment. Give it a shot:

"this is what finally worked for me - hopefully for you all as well: Nvidia Control Panel > Set up G-SYNC > under #1 ONLY have 'Enable for full screen mode" as checked (I previously had "Enable for windowed and full screen mode checked) / just as FYI my monitor is listed in #2 and / #3 is checked"

Unfortunately the settings were as you described.
Turning off anti aliasing worked for Skyrim, though if I change resolution to something less than my monitor back it comes and I wanted to change the resolution as I have Level up permanently on screen and lowering the resolution gets rid of it seemingly?

There does not seem to be a one size fits all solution. With one game I had to go into the config file and change the resolution there before it would work, think that was Dark Souls 111, Vanquish I never solved the issue.

It really is a puzzle.

Definitely nag them about the SE version IMHO, graphics aside it should be less buggy. Though it's a bethesda game so there will still be bugs. I've had more than one of the bethesda games minimize on me, think it was Skyrim LE and maybe FO:NV. From memory it was the reason I installed a borderless windowed mod for LE. Having a quick search online pulls up more than one thread so it's probably a bethesda 'feature'.
 
Had a similiar problem ages ago, something was stealing focus from the game, cant remember which program caused it now, but there was a small free program I downloaded to run in the background before launching games which could tell you what was taking focus, cant remember name of it, but might be worth checking.

Seemingly I am not entitled to the SE version which is fine as I only want to play Wyrmstooth.
 
One issue that has resolve the problem with a couple of games which came from our friend Microsoft and the MS- Game overlay, switching it off did the trick.
