Games not working on PC

3 Games - Fire Warrior, Armed and Dangerous, and Uru.

None of these games seem to work on my dad's PC, even though his is more modern than mine. They work on mine and on others, so i know it isnt the disk.

They install fine, it just gets to the double click on icon, then "program has to close, sorry for inconvenience" message

Ive tried compatability and other tricks, such as minimal installation, full installation, rebooted a million times, but since they work on other machines, i dont get why they dont work on this machine.

Its a Dell (god help us all) Dimension 5100 PIV win XP with basic ram (512) and graphics card.

The only 2 things i could think it is are that the CD drive recently had a disk blow up in it, and this could corrupt the installation somehow. Or it could be that each game during installation asks to connect to the internet (which he has).

Any help or advice or solutions would be greatly appreciated. I know he could just play them on a different PC, but when your PC is less than 3 months old and doesnt play games, somethings got to be wrong with the world.

its a dvd rw so it should read and run everything except blueray stuff no?

as for graphics card... dell factory piece of *****. But its not the graphics card cos it runs some high spec games.

Yes there is something wrong with the world and it's called integrated graphics. A computer could be a day old, but with integrated graphics it's not going to be much good for games. Maybe some games can handle it better than others, but generally it sounds like you really don't have a gaming PC.
