Hi,

So this morning went ahead and installed some updates for windows 7. Once I restarted - the folder containing all the games on my HDD had gone missing. Everything apart from the games folder appears to be fine, I just don't understand how this happened.

Can anyone give me some insight on this?

That`s Windows updates for you. Can you not just do a restore?

I've restored, hasn't fixed the problem and now I'm getting loads of errors for different applications.

This is ridiculous, I may just re install Windows again and not update at all. :(

Right okay I've reinstalled Windows.

I'm planning to not update at all. Will I run into any problems? The notifications list them as critical updates.

Thank you

You'll miss out on a lot of security updates and other patches that add compatibility with applications. It's just bad luck what happened to you dude. They're usually worthwhile.

I only install security and other updates essential for security. Stuff like MS office I don`t, as I don`t use it.
Best to open a thread in the Software forum, as you will properly get a better informative response. I would`nt like to give you bad advice.
