Your very own resident Badgermonkey will be famous! (Perhaps :P )

I have just begun work on a computer games review show that i plan to release over the net. It'll do a couple of things.

1. Games Reviews over all current and some retro platforms, obviously.
2. Witty remarks, and perhaps the odd funny sketch if i can be assed.
3. Guest stars! (Various friends and flatmates ;) )
4. Me on video!
5. Reviews of game software, and games created on this software by up and coming games programmers. (See my uni course for a hell of a lot of resources for THAT one :) )

All this for free!!!

So if you have any ideas, anything you think ought to be thrown into this show, don't hesitate to let me know! All things will be considered, and full credit given to anybody's ideas that I use.

host it from a rubbish tip, like get a sofa dump it in the middle (or use one already there) and host away.

Show matches on it perhaps, with commentary. cWg Vs NoC :P

or you could show some pr0 demos off from i29 if u wanted.

Depends if you want to get into that side of it or just want to concentrate on reviews etc m8.

Are you going to stream it or stick it on video sites or something else?

gl + hf

definatley tourney commentary etc.

maybe you can jump in on some LAN action at different venues. people are always holding small living room LANS, and would like the "clan" exposure.

you could turn it into something good. especially from a vidcast point of view.

good luck with it.

hay, you want some intro/outro music? :) email in trust.

yeh the lan idea could be cool, i'm going to i30 so if you need a reporter badgerboy

Fleh we can talk about it maybe ;) When IS i30 anyway?

Also I never thought about the whole LAN report/match report type things, we have quite a few LANs held around here, would be good coverage for them

Oh and Lozza, I'm a musician... I'll do it myself ;) But thanks for the offer :) Any other offers of help would be appreciated, and at least considered!

Also, I haven't entirely settled on a name, I'm not going to tell people the ones ive narrowed it down to, just see if you have any other ideas i can consider :)

The LAN and tourney coverage ideas would be great. If you get a bit of viewership then tourney organisers will surely begin covering your expenses to travel to their competition to cover it.

Here's a thought, you could get tournament winners or other members of the pro gaming scene to screencap short clips of their games for your show and do a commentary voiceover for them :p Or you could interview them while the clip is playing, which would be better as you could gently make fun of them with impertinent questions.

Hehe, I'm currently talking to multiplay about the possibility of this (apparently they don't want me to just go off and use free footage, especially of the games played), but i think it'll be possible :)

The first several episodes (loosely described as the first series, but that's not the right term) I won't be looking at too many freebies from bigwigs, however hopefully if i can get a base of people who watch/enjoy it then things will start to develop :)

Let me know if you need a mirror for it, got loads of bandwidth going to waste at the moment. :)

Sounds like a really good idea if you can pull it off!

Its a good idea.
Do you plan to compete with Consolevania? Who themselves have secured a BBCS contract?
Or do you plan on it being 'something to do' ?

Of course i don't plan to compete with them, i idolise them :p

Nah, it's more "something to do", but something to do proffessionally (ish). It's not going to be a half hearted attempt, but unless it really takes off (doubtful) then it's more of a fun project.

Yep, once the site is up I'll link it (through this page if it's still around :p ) and obviously Im gona want to plug the show when i release it so you'll all see me telling you to watch it and spread the news ;)

Well guys, a nice little update :)

The website is now up HERE :D

There is much to be done to the site, that was thrown up quickly with my very limited knowledge of HTML (as in no knowledge before setting that up!)

Forums are also up, so get on, get spamming and let your friends know!

....Please? :p

Computer Games Development in Glamorgan (Pontypridd) as a matter of fact :p

But that point 5 appears to be fading out of the plan, as my ideas run ragged at me, an entire review idea changed within a day... the show remains the same, but it looks like the indie games and games software won't get a look in for a while.

Coverage of i30 is in negotiations right now though :)

Well I'm quite happy to help with that section seeing as I'm on the same course as you so have quite a big interest in it

Especially with XNA round the corner, I think you'll be able to find and talk about quite a lot of stuff to do with that area

You wouldnt do much wrong to cover a game specific lan like an Infinity Gaming tournament, they are holding their 4th event at the new 400PC lan centre in birmingham when it opens, should be January time.

You going to XNA? Perhaps a quick meet up might be possible? :)
