Games running too fast

My brother has got a problem with his pc atm. Sometimes it runs games too quick. It's nothing to do with graphics setting or anything like that I've tried everything and I can't think of anything else. Anyone know why some games runs too quick. Atm list of games that work fine are WoW and MoH

A. Gams that don't run right are Sims 2 and BF2/Bf2142. Anyone got any ideas?

try ctrl+alt+del and right click the games process and set the affinity to just 1 core if your on a dual core, when i had painkiller on it played in hyperspeed until i done that

It's a well-documented bug in UT, which bases the game speed off the clock speed at startup, so SpeedStep or similar will mess it up. Can't think why it would happen in any new game though. Maybe you could try the AMD dual-core optimiser.
