Games similar to Defcon?

I seem to remember a while ago a game was out/being made that had a similar theme to Defcon (World warfare style strategy) but it was more indepth? Was I dreaming/drunk or are there other games like Defcon but are more in depth?

Defcon is fun, but would like more. More I tell thee!

Supreme Commander - and it's not out yet. meant to be early 2007.

It seems like a good concept for a game and all but the actual delivery of it isn't the best. Gets pretty boring and the combat/war side of things isn't that good at all.

Thats the one! Super Power. Pity it looks lamer than I remember seeing! Bored of Defcon after a couple of hours at it. Seems all you do is wait for Defcon 1, launch everything and just sit and wait for the game to finish. Rinse and repeat! Pity really as the concept is great fun but the depth just isnt there

I thought that when I started, then I visited Introversion's forums and realised there's an awful lot more to it than that. Made it a lot better in my opinion

*roffles* .... as a player of Total annihilation for the last ten years, i think supreme commander may be a little more than he was after... :rolleyes:
