Having played MMO's exclusively since 99 and pretty much every fantasy mmo ever released since then, i can honestly say that those 5 games listed on Geek.com are a joke, SWTOR was very very poor once you got past the story quests.
RIFT is great, i only recently cancelled my sub mainly because i play EQ1 almsot exclusively right now and also because its going f2p with very little restrictions, infact i predict this game will become huge with their f2p model. Other MMO's should really take note of this, give your customers more and they will likely reward you with sticking around longer and buying stuff from your shops, not to mention your expansion packs etc.
Also as mentioned previously, TSO is another good f2p game, i bought it at release but didnt really ever get into it, great graphics and good concepts, i just didnt get on with it personally though, occasionally i try it again though to see how its changed.
I think for most people WoW has peaked now and is in its declining years, most people i know who played it like me at release well into every expansion since have either quit totally, or only ever went back for expansions for a few weeks and then quit again.
Im personally waiting on ESO and EQN, hopefully both of these will see new light breathed into this flagging genre.
