We can let him off the hook, he's only in sixth form so maybe he doesnt know what to do! :)

Sixth form! Grumbles, how things have slipped... Now when I was a lad we learned to speak proper English don't you know. And where's the capitalisation! Personally I think it's a good thing you've lost your games, my have the time to do your homework now!

On a more serious note I'd just look to see which mates or mates of mates load up PGR3 and COD2 tonight for the first time though in truth they're most likely to have been nabbed by some rough sort who'll be flogging them for £5 a piece to his dads fence.

infact i did have an idea who had taken them, because the other night about two days after they were taken the best friend of the guy who i believe took them loaded call of duty2 for the first time, i think a quiet word is in order ;)

edit: ive been out for a few hours but stayed logged in, thats why i have not replied :p

Am i the only one who gets annoyed by that sort of english?
Not at all he is clearly saying that he "borrowed a friend" and that friend is infact "one of 2 copies of PGR3". If optical discs are his friends then that's cool....

You lent him the discs now you want them back. If he has "Lost" them he has no option but to replace them. What you appear to be saying now (assuming you are using real English) is that your so called "mate" lied to you and gave them to someone else hoping that you'd be some doormat mug who'd just go buy some more.

I'd offer you some recovery services but they would cost you more than the games and ruin 2 peoples chances of finishing their A levels this decade.

Just tell him you want the copies replaced by the end of the week, either you'll get yours back or he'll have to buy some new copies.

:p no what i was saying is that i am suspicious of another person in sixth form who i believe took them from my friends bag, and that it is the friend of the person that i athink took them that played COD2 the other night for the first time, i know this because i managed to get his gamer tag and compared games etc on xbox live

OK. Please tell me that you failed O level English and are not studying any form of A level English. :p

Either way your mate owes you replacement games. Make him replace them and then maybe in future he won't be so careless with your property.

These two lads..... either of them got a sister, failing that a fit mother?

I think you're wrong. *spank!*
you're right though

Even still, 'may' would be wrong, might would be better usage of the English language. Bloody commoners.

"may" would not be *wrong*.

You may have more time .........

Exactly. "You" being the first word necessary to correct it.
",you may" works. ",may" doesn't. It's incorrectly constructed.

However, 'might' is still the correct word to use.

"might" would also be incorrectly constructed as it should be "you might".

mehehehehehehehe.

True. :(.
Still, 'might' is the word he should have used.

Why is there more of a debate on smcshaw's post that the original, poorly constructed sentence. We'd best leave it here, we'll be here all night.
Atleast I will. You can post between toilet breaks.

*zing!*

LOL. Did you see the toilet thread in GD or the post your bathroom one? There are some very unhygenic people posting on these fine forums.
