Games suddenly crash?

I Went to play UT3 last night... Got to just when the game was abotu to begin and it crashed.

Dialog box comes up telling me that its stopped working and that I will be informed when a solution is found... or somethign like that.

So, bugger it, Im also a fair bit into Warhammer Mark Of Chaos so I will have a piddle about on that instead, but guess what? - Same error. The whoel game goes through everything just fine but once it finishes loading the level and I am right about to start... Windows has stopped working etc dialog comes up!

Weird.

I have now gone and tried all my games and most of them do the very same thing... Only UT Classic works.

WTF?

What have I done recently then that might cause this to happen?

Well, I have installed the PhysX drivers? - I have also removed them now too, however I alsop instaleld them on a couple of other PCs and uninstalled them now too and I have not had such issues with other PCs.

I have also tried reinstalling the offending games, also renewing the Video Drivers but that made no difference?

Any clues?

PC is a 965P DS4 - Q9550 - GTX295 - XFI Fartal1ty

Overheating maybe, or loose card affected by extra heat under stress?
Might just be worth checking all the fans are fully spinning and not clogged and for loose cables and connections etc and install some temp monitoring software.

Software wise, does anything perform auto updates?

Overheating is near to impossible.

Only last week I bought new fans and I have given it a full overhaul. I am running SpeedFan and even with 4 cores, Folding @ 100% Im only just about 46c, idle witjhout Folding Im well under 30c

Again with loose card. I have checked the cards and also the wiring is my usual high quality well out if the way and unseen.

Loose connections etc. Again, this is impossible, or to be fair, improbable.

Its most likely to be a driver issue given the timing that each and every game does crash, and given that all these games worked fine until the point where I installed the PhysX card... Its froim that moment on that I get these issues.

Have you updated your graphic's drivers latley?
Maybe try a different version of drivers.

I havent no.

Although I have reinstalled the same drivers from the drive I installed them onto when I did install them last time... Always C:\Windows\nVidia\ plus I have uninstalled UT3 and reinstalled it and this has helped. UT3 is now running again.

I did the same with Mark Of Chaos but irritatingly, the saved games dont work now, so I am going to have to start over. The games were saved on v1.2 of the game and I have patched it to 1.2 but it still fails to access them.
