Games suggestions please RPG, fighter, racing

Hi guys im looking for some newish games suggestions,
RPG, action adventure game mainly but some other options like fighter, Racing would be good.
Either im just getting old or the games are not very good but I ive not found anything I can get into. any suggestion is welcome anything to get me back.

I'm thinking of giving Elden ring and Hogwarts a try.

its been some time since I've played a good RPG.

Hogwarts is more of an action adventure than RPG.
Elden Ring is 100% about combat, so if you want other aspects as well, I would recommend Kingdom Come and Enderal.

Great that cover one for each genre I wanted, Elden Ring for RPG and Hogwarts for action adventure.
Kingdomcome also looks good, ill give that a shot as well.

I gave Elden ring a try but it seam to be missing something IMO, not very fun unless i just need to give it some more time.

I Started Hogwarts the other day and its once of the best games I've played in a long time.

Mass Effect remastered trilogy. an easy 30-50 hours right there and a great story as well. Currently £12.49 on Steam in the sale (bargain!) or available on EA Play for £4pm.

I will likely give they a go, mass effect 1,2 are 2 of the best games I have played

Dunno if it’s what your after but other semi open world / story heavy games recently from the AAA world have been Cyberpunk, Red Dead and God of War. If you have something else you’re after have plenty of recommendations, but those are sort of bouncing of your like for Potter.

If you want to go out of your wheel house a bit, I personally really liked Kena: Bridge of Spirits (it's hard), Persona 5 Royal / Yakuza 8 Like a Dragon (seems like most people love one of those and dislike the other), Plague Tale Innocence & Requium and Nier: Automata. Steam sale starting tomorrow I think, so those are my recommendations,

For something completely different try Ace Combat 8, Resident Evil 4 remake or Forza Horizon 5; all great games

More recommendations.

Fighters: Street Fighter 6 was just launched, it's excellent otherwise look at Guilty Gear Strive. MK One and Tekken 8 are due soon; so we're in a golden age for that genre. Sort of adjacent in that it's a beat 'em up rather than a pure fighter but the TMNT game is excellent also. This genre is very dependent on online community which i'm not too close too. For brawlers multiversus looked okay, but got unlaunched. Probably best to just get a Nintendo and play Smash.

Racers: Forza Horizon 5 is an excellent arcade racer, Forza Motorsport is due pretty soon for a bit more serious. No idea about proper sims. Need For Speed Unbound was well received. For a callback to Outrun, check out Slipstream.

I am a NFS fan but ive not liked them much since the originals.

Horizon Zero Dawn should definitely be on your list. It's Epic. Just one word of advice, do all the side quests and DLC before doing the final few sections of the main quest. The story is just amazing and really powerful. Once you finish the story, you will not want to go back. At least I wouldn't have been able to.

And here is a left field suggestion, You might have already tried this, but have you played FTL:Faster than Light?

Sorry for the delay in reply its been a busy week, Skyrim was a great game, i played it for month when it came out, ive not played the others so ill need to check them out,

Shredders Revenge, its excellent. Same team did Scott Pilgrim game.

If you are just coming back, i'd lightly suggest getting gamepass for a month or two

Ill check it out, I did see a lot of good reviews when it came out but I did not have the time to play it.
