Hey

ive recently purchased an external HDD and im wondering what games i can install to it that it will run on any computer, mainly for work computers where i dont have the security privilages to install them.

i know that i wont be able to get many recent games but any ideas on some classics that may run

regards

shouldn't you be doing work then ;)

yea wow works off a HDD so long as ports are open, people in my uni would do it all the time as all FPS games the ports were blocked but every mmorpg we tried worked xP

may want to be carefull if you should be playing games as i know with the majority of companies that have IT departments they can view whats on your screen with a few mouse clicks... dunno if they would be too impressed to see you wowing it up or beating up a hooker for the money u just gave her xP

the main reason i ask is every so oftern i work offshore where i have to stay onboard a tanker for 24-48 hours but i only have a couple of hours work to do at the start and finish so i far too much free time and i can normally only sleep for 12 hours a day max. i also have a psp which keeps me entertained to an extent i always have the company laptop with me for the paperwork - no internet access while im offshore though.

im not saying i wont use it in the office but it will only be during the night as the job can have a lot of downtime.

cheers so far guys

Steam and its games should be fine on a USB as far as I know, though not having net access will be a problem unless you can log in once before you go on the laptop and then be able to use offline mode while at sea.

THIS.

Play almost any game you like then.

Steam offline mode is great and it works.

After installing a game, run it once while online so it can "phone home" and your good to go.
