I've always found Crysis 3 good at crashing what stress tests suggested is stable.

Unfortunately, it felt like a chore today to try and play an hour or so of it.

Any other good games out there that like to pray on slightly unstable systems?

Don't have any games to suggest, but if you don't want to play stuff you don't like, just do H.264 video converting while you browse. That's a very good stability tester, as long as the CPU is worked 100% or close to it.

this....try encoding a video file with handbrake (most user friendly option) or megui. Encoding with either of these should work your cpu @ 100% or very close to it.

I think GTAV does a fairly decent job at stressing your machine.

I have an i7 4790k and GTX 780ti and I'll hit around 60% CPU usage (no turbo) and probably hit 65-70c on my gpu with everything cranked up. (Air)

I haven't tried TW3 since I've got my new CPU so don't know how well it fairs.
