I've recently started playing some classic Mortal Kombat I, II and III again.
This reminded me about when I watched an early preview for MK I / II as a kid and how some of the moves were filmed.

Anyone I have found some great behind the scenes videos, like this

:D at Nightwolf straightening his hair

Do any modern games use real actors for recording movement, models or anything? Probably not as it would have been a lot of work for the multiple characters. Plus it added the issue about actors wanting royalties and things

The only other I can think of is Carmageddon, where 2d sprites were used for pedestrians

I believe Mass Effect did, at least as far as Martin Sheen went.
I also heard a rumour about some breathtaking fella who was in a fairly new game... Cypherfunk, or something?
Oh yeh, I forgot Keanu in Cyberfunk. It would be interesting seeing the behind scenes footage now a days compared to the 90s. I expect a lot less heart goes into it

I came across those videos last year and enjoyed watching them as MK on my SNES was one of my favourite games, so it brought back a lot of memories.

The toasty guy cracks me up:

Would love if they did another MK game using that technique. It would look awesome, though admittedly animation would not be easy :p
I would 100% pay £50 for a Mortal Kombat classic. 2D style of mk1, 2, 3 but with all the new cameras for capturing moves and sound.
That with a good online multiplayer would be incredible. Doubt it will happen so in the mean time, back to mk1, 2 & 3

Yeah, Kerry Hoskins is MK3 Sonya and 50 years old. For whatever reason she threw on her original Sonya costume in December and posted lots of pics. Not that many people complained :p
Kerri Hoskins looks awesome for 50. Elizabeth Malecki at 47 does not
I'll just remember her as Sonya in 1995 when I was about 12 :D

Quite a few games do then by the sounds of it. It certainly adds to the realism of the game if you are controlling a 'real' person
