games(tm) review scores (incl Uncharted) and their top 10 of 07

Right, got my issue earler than expected and the scores mopping up the end of the year are:

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune: 8 ~ Uncharted is a refreshingly hype free title for a console so far scuppered by Sonys failure to deliver .. [an] extremely pleasant suprise
Zack & Wiki: Barbaros Treasure: 8 ~ a joyous Wii game that's sure to be a jewel in the consoles crown for years to come
Battalion Wars 2: 8 ~ A glorious sequel
Geometry Wars: Galaxies: 7 ~ A highly entertaining take on the Xbox Live hit
Unreal Tournament III: 8 ~ Another great release but .. campaign mode is complete and utter nonsense
F.E.A.R. Files: 6 ~ One half good, one half bad, too expensive
Res Evil: Umbrella Chronicles: 7 ~ Flawed but fun
Blacksite: 6 ~ Confident and entertaining, aspiring to be little else
Namco Museum Remix: 2 ~ is an insult to retro enthusiasts
Sonic Rivals 2: 6 ~ Fun but equally frustrating
Mario Party DS: 5 ~ Midly fun

So games(tm) shows some Sony love and there are another crop of great Wii games to consider.

Their top 10 of 07 are:

8 ~ Crackdown
7 ~ COD4
6 ~ Crysis
5 ~ Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
4 ~ Halo 3
3 ~ Super Mario Galaxy
2 ~ The Orange Box

Oh man, I forgot about Zack and Wiki. I really wanted that, but forgot about it after piling £100's in games in the last couple of months :(.

Oh well, Birthday in January. *hint*.
 
It's out on the 18th of January I think, really looking forward to it. I still play through Monkey Island on occassions to get my point and click fix, but this just looks like an innovative and extremely challenging take on it. Can't wait.

The Wii version feels totally different though. Resident Evil 4 is a classic title, I believe it was voted at #2 of all time not long back after Zelda. So it's not really a surprise. I'd have been annoyed if it wasn't in the top10.
 
It is a top game is RE4 Wii edition - bit linear mind.

that top ten for 2007 is wack though - i have very little respect for game.tm, they seem to have a bit of an agenda.

And what would their agenda be?

I really trust their reviews. I rarely play a game and disagree with their conclusions. GamesTM seem to be one of the few magazines that don't buy into the hype when they review games. Their only agenda seems to be to push games as a serious and adult art-form.
