Games with decent frame rates for older cards?

I have an ageing BFG 6800GS which is starting to struggle playing the latest games! Which games that have been out for the last year or two will run at a decent FPS(preferably averaging at least 40 FPS with AA & AS both turned on & max settings @ 1024x768 and above) on my card?

I found the new tomb raider anniversary ran like a dream, with everything turned up & still getting 50-80 FPS in most places.

Hopefully this thread could help owners of cards with similar specs to myself & not waste money on games they cannot enjoy fully!

I'm trying to put off upgrading as long as i can!
 
Back when i had my 6800 i played games like call of duty 2, Battlefield 2, CSS

I was really into my FPS games back then :p

They all look good and ran perfectly on 1280x1024 max settings
 
Hmmm what games are having trouble then, my 6800gs seems to handle everything fine still except dirt.
EDIT, oh , with aa& af, lol nvm


MohPA seems to run very decent, fear also runs very good, everything maxed but soft shadows.
Source games also run great, with bloom&16xAF and ingame maxed AA.

Rainbow six Las vegas,test drive unlimited & call of juarez run pretty bad
(under 25fps)
They may be great games & look great but how come other games can look just as pretty & run a lot smoother FPS?
Is this down to poor coding?
 
TDu runs fine here on high, 4x aa, 1024 res, , always above 25 fps, but yes not above the 35 you want, it averages around 28...

R6v = bad coding
COJ dont know, no exp. with it
 
I had a similar spec card (6800GT) until around 9 months ago, I'd suggest trying the following:

Flatout 2
Fahrenheit
Moto GP URT 3

I found these all performed very well.
