Trying to think of games with actual exploding nuclear weapons (not just the wasteland afterwards -- but where you actually see the explosion and mushroom cloud).

I can only think of C&C Generals, some ancient C64 game called 'Theatre of War' or something .. and 'wargames' on the Spectrum 48k.

Surely there must be more?

Fallout 3.

Go the the nearest town at the start (when out of tunnels). Go to the bar, speak to the slimy dude.

Go to his tower after doing mission and you get treated to a nice scene.

Considering a nuclear explosion isn't really something you can 'see' (indeed, all you'd see is a white flash) you probably want the best looking aftermath. In which case I think WiC wins hands down, I like the way you see the mushroom cloud towering over the battlefield after the devastation - also the way you feel like your screen is scrambled if you try to move your camera into ground zero :)

SimCity and Command and Conquer have nukes, although the most "impressive" is probably World in Conflict. That SupCom nuke video above though is hilarious :p
