Gamestream not available in the 1030, isn't that the point of it?

Hello,

I’m trying to get hold of a cheap graphics card for my second PC, the idea is to game stream to it whenever I fancy playing a game (from my 1080 GTX, which is now in my living room thanks to VR!). Just had a look at the 1030 and it doesn’t have NVIDIA Gamestream? I thought the whole point of Gamestream was to enable the low end cards to run games via Gamestream? (My Nividia Shield TV does a great job and that's android based)

Anyone know the cheapist Nvidia card I can get with Gamestream and ideally at least 2 display ports? (I know the 1030 doesn’t have 2 display ports but that was for a different PC)

Cheers

You can buy a Steam Link which is £4 that you connect to a TV that allows you to stream games from your pc at 1080p and it works flawlessly.

Edit:

Just looked at steam store and it’s back to £39.99 which is a bummer as it was on sale for £4 for quite a while.

Just to clarify I can stream from my 1080 to a 1030 and enjoy all the benefits of Gsync etc (1080 does the maths 1030 just streams it?)

No that’s not how it works. If using GeForce Experience Game streaming only Nvidia shield is officially supported and forget about using Moonlight on pc as it works terrible from my experience.
If you use steam in home streaming your 1080 will do both game rendering and streaming with very little performance hit.
With steam streaming it doesn’t matter what gpu will be receiving the stream as even intel hd graphics will work just as well.
But from my experience steam link works better than pc when receiving the stream.
And forget about gsync because that won’t work.
