Hi all,

Could you cast your eye over this list and see if I've missed anything? I've checked the graphics card dimensions and it "should" fit. I'm a bit out of touch with graphics cards these days. I don't necessarily need ultimate performance as it were, just something relatively future proof and play 4k if it eventually makes it's way to movies.

List:

MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5
Intel Core i5-3470 3.20GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W)
Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C10 1600MHz
Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe (Socket 1155/Intel Z77.DDR3/S-ATA 600/Mini ITX)
Silverstone SST-SOB02 Blu-ray Burner
Samsung 128GB SSD 840 PRO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7PD128BW)
Corsair Builder Series CX 500w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply
Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced Mini-ITX Case - Black

Total : £1,004.47

Let me work on getting a picture of that list!

Cheers

Couple of things:

Your CPU/motherboard is last-generation.

Your motherboard is way more expensive than you need, considering your CPU isn't overclockable.

Your don't need 16gb RAM for gaming.

The Samsung EVO is just as fast as the Pro in the real world, and considerably cheaper.

There is an updated version of the CM Elite available: the Elite 130.

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming Edition OC 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £239.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4670 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £155.99
1 x Gigabyte H87N-WIFI Intel H87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 Mini ITX Motherboard £99.95
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE120BW) £86.99
1 x LG BH16NS40 16x SATA Internal BDRW - Retail £79.99
1 x TeamGroup Vulcan RED 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TLD38G1600HC9DC01) £59.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 450W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £53.99
1 x Cooler Master Elite 130 RC-130-KKN1 Mini ITX Case - Black £45.95
Total : £832.43 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The above spec would not be overclockable. For that you'd need an unlocked chip, a Z87 board, and an aftermarket cooler. That could still fit in your £1000 budget, if you so desire. I also haven't included an HDD, as you didn't either.

Hi mate, thanks for this. I made a few changes after looking at other builds. I kept the same motherboard and processor but dropped the ram for the Teamgroup and added a bigger ssd. I also dropped the bluray. I also got the case you listed too. Regarding the processor and board... Possibly over spent here but never mind. I included and aftermarket low profile cpu cooler which will hopefully fit. I opted for a modular psu to remove any unnecessary clutter as airflow may be an issue. I'll see how it goes. Thanks for your suggestions. Wish I'd read them before I spent!
