Ok so I hope this is the right place to post this topic, but I'm planning on building my first gaming PC. So essentially im looking to build a PC that is much better than my 7 year old monster under my desk, as I use my PC for pretty much everything. I'm looking to build a computer that im able to play games such as Arma and GTA at Ultra Graphics or at least look good and record at the same time at stable frames to produce videos for my You Tube channel that I enjoy doing in my spare time. So I need a rig that can play games with great visuals, record the game play and good enough to render videos and animations.

I have put together a setup with a friend as he has already built his own PC and we have watched videos to narrow down the sort of hardware I need for what I wanna do and we think it looks good, but a little bit unsure on the CPU choice and the GPU, and if the items we have selected will work well. I've also tried to keep the color theme to dark colors and green as I love green aha. My budget is to try and keep it as close to £1000 as possible but currently around about £1300 which is comfortable and will allow me to start buying the items next month.

  • Aerocool X-Predator Evil Full Tower Gaming Case = £100.00

I already have an Optical Drive that I got from my friend so that is not included in the list.

I'm not quite sure if I should get Windows 7 or Windows 10, I could use some help with that decision aswell.

Total = £1223.88

Wont be able to help you with the CPU as i have never used AMD recently, the case however is the same i have, but in orange for my setup, this case is big and i mean big! so make sure you check you have the space

Yeah I've got plenty of space, I worked out its roughly the same size as my friends so I've made room for it aha.

Considering you got an Intel CPU, and ive selected an AMD CPU. How important is the selection of the right CPU have on the system? As I'm totally unsure wither to go AMD or Intel. Only thing that is swaying me towards AMD is the price as it seems to be a good CPU for its price.

Welcome to the forums!

The 9590 is effectively a factory OCed 8350/8370 from what I recall, someone else is bound to correct me! If you do want to go AMD, then the 8350 is a good choice and should OC well on that board (it's one of the few decent AM3+ boards for the 8-core chips). Cooler-wise, I'd go with:

or

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...-liquid-cooling-upgrade-bundle-bu-097-tl.html

They're the same price, work well (I have one) and will give you better temperature headroom, especially if you do get the 9590.

You probably only need 16GB RAM and graphics-wise it might be worth looking at the R9 390/390X.

PS you might want to remove the rainforest link as it's against the forum rules.

Thank you :)

Is there much difference in performance with the AMD 9590 compared to the 8350? If there isn't much difference I would much prefer to go with the the 8350 because of price.

Also regarding the cooler, is there any accessories necessary to get, such as the fan controller?

You mentioned the R9 390/390X, is that an 8GB Graphics Card? I selected the GTX 970 because one it looks nice aha but also because it has good display ports as I have 2 screens and may go for 3 at some point and seems like a good card to get. But If the R9 390/390X is more powerful than GTX 970 I would definitely consider it.

Yeah I assumed 32GB was OVERKILL. I just kinda wanted to make sure I have a lot of RAM as I do a tone of stuff at the same time lol. Such as Itunes, Steam, Google Chrome, Video Editing, Photoshop, Team Speak and running a game all at the same time. Will the 32GB make a difference compared to the 16GB already do you think?

PS the rainforest link is gone cheers aha
