Nah.

I should elaborate, there will be an increase in performance, but what you have is still good, I dont think the costs involved will be worth it, even selling off your older stuff.

Atm im holding off till BD comes out but then again the cost wont justify the performance gain.

I think i should just wait for the next cpu arch? any info on them on release date and performance?

Intel ivy bridge is end of the year.

Bulldozer I read was delayed again till around August time, give or take a bit.

Then you got the full on Intel Sandybridge-E early next year, quad channel RAM etc.

I just had a look at sandy bridge-e motherboards and omg what the hell is up with the layout?

erazor you might wanna sort your sig out buddy. Your only allowed a max of 4 lines and if you don't change it then a mod will just delete it anyway :)

OP

Your rig is already good enough to play games at full HD res :)

If you want to upgrade, I would suggest upgrading from quad core (Q6600) to a hex or octa core cpus in futue.

Imo there is no point of upgrading from an overclocked old quad core to a new overclocked quadcore if you are just gaming. Besides your GPU is already powerful enough and overclocked Q6600 is still very strong:)

Thanks for the info guys. Just updated my sig.

That's what i was thinking. I'll just play the waiting game and see what the BD 8 core has to offer :).

I use to upgrade my system every 8 months but after the q6600 setup i seem to have taken a long break and im itching to upgrade to something new :P

I need to reach 250 posts to get free shipping but do they have any policy for valued customers who have spent a lot of money at ocuk over the years?
