Hi,

My friend is looking to get a nice gaming PC. He is looking to spend around £700 for just the pc itself (he has a monitor, keyboard, mouse etc).

We are looking for something that can play all the modern games at the moment and hopefully last him a good couple of years before he has to upgrade anything.

He was asking for something similar to mine (what I have is in my signature) but I mentioned he could get better than mine for the same £700 price I paid a year ago.

All builds appreciated,

Thanks

Thanks for that I will show him later.

I like the idea of an SSD being a lot faster but if you buy one only for the OS and a seperate SATA 1TB hard drive for everything else would does that not eliminate the speed of SSD since most stuff is installed on the other drive?

yes, but not quite.
you install your apps on the ssd (hence a nice big 256gb ssd) and keep you media files like videos and music on the hdd
and are you still getting ocuk to build your custom rig? if you are, be prepared to set aside £50-100 extra
ps: need os?

No I will build it for him and he already has a Windows so no OS.

So in terms of the hard drive you install everything onto the SSD but only use the 1TB SATA as a storage for movies/music/pictures etc, you don't install anything to this drive.
