Hey guys,

Been a follower of these here forums for a while (checked my purchase account, the earliest buy was from 2006!), although this is my first post I believe.

Anyway after perusing them for the past couple of months whilst I looked at other people were being specced for their systems, I came up with this one for myself, would this be acceptable for gaming (at 1920*1080) and some basic photo/video editing?

Everything I've included is what is required, and finally the budget is £800 (ex VAT, so roughly the £1000 its suggesting in the pasted links.) I've pushed it as far as I can thus far.

I did want one of the cheaper MSI motherboards however they seem to have been out of stock for a while now, and the cheaper gigabyte ud3 b3 revision board says that it will only do crossfire so wasn't sure it would be compatible with the 560Ti chosen.
Just wanted to make sure that I was on the right track in regards to what went together and getting the most out of my budget which I think I have achieved.

I don't think I've missed out anything you guys may need to aid in this.

Looks pretty good but expect the debate about the 560 v 480, predominantly people would opt for the 480 I think.

Check the stats here:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/309?vs=330

Also, that case is quite price heavy and I would suggest you could bring your cost down a little buy going for this with this. But obviously cases are a personal thing so entirely up to you.

EDIT:

I would like to add that the Obsidian is indeed a beautiful specimin. (can't spell specimen fo' shizzle)

Stulid please don't bash me. Just point out what's wrong if there is something.

Why have you changed his case?

If he likes the looks of the 650D then he should buy it.

So he could the 480 with a better fan but if he doesnt care about the noise and heat. Here:

As long as you are aware the motherboard doesnt do crossfire correctly?

Then proceed.

Whilst I wasn't planning on crossfiring the card, it got me curious when you said, it wouldn't do it properly - could you clarify for me what you mean ?

Thanks for the help guys, quick and painless:)

Appreciated

Lideon

The motherboard gives doesnt give both PCI-E slots the same amount of bandwidth, the bottom slot runs at 4X speed when a second card is inserted.

The MSI GD65/55, Gigabyte UD4, ASUS PRO all run both slots at equal 8X/8X

The plastic slots maybe a physical 16X in size, but the actual connections from the chipset is a lot different.

Right well thanks for the clarification on that.

Can't see that being an issue for the foreseeable future.

Looking forward to my first build now!

Thanks again

Don't you think the spec I [posted would be appropiate for sli, crossfire if the op wanted later on. He could change the gpu to the 6950 easily if he wants.
