My brother has just recently taken interest in buying a new computer to play the latest games on. He already has a moniter/mouse/keyboard/speakers ect he just needs the box.

I have bought a computer from here before so i obviously reccomended him the site due to the excellent service i recieved. From this past experience, i have quickly made him a build that i would be happy with if i was to buy a computer today. However, i would like an outsiders perspective since i may have missed some good deals or better parts that could be replaced. Below is the build i have come up with, if you can think of any improvements to the build please say since he is very worried about not getting his moneys worth.

His budget is £700, and he is not interested in soundcards/optical drives since he already has these components from a previous computer.

Two things i am unsure about is, he currently has a 32inch HD tv and with that current graphics card, will he be able to use his TV as a moniter VIIA HDMI lead. Secondly, im unsure about the PSU size, will it be big enough for the current setup or will he need a larger one.

I look forward to your reply,

I don't think its worth pay for vista since win7 is coming out. just download the win7 64bits RC and use the £80 on components.

Edit: I think this set up gives the best bang for the money:

It only comes to £581 but I doubt you'll see MUCH of an improvement with that £100 extra (not 20% as the price would suggest). You could get a quad or a better GPU (gtx 285 for example), but not that many games ultilise quad core yet.

I'd be looking at a AMD 720 system for that kind of budget, something like:

I wouldn't suggest 32bit Shadowake, it wont be able to use all 4gb of ram

Oops must have clicked that by mistake! Well spotted :D
