hey there I'm looking into replacing my old mobo CPU and ram
i already have:
500w antec EA-500 psu
NZXT Gamma case
MSI HD 6950 Twin Frozr III 2 GB

i was looking at
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-001-GI
or
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-111-OE

although im not exactly sure on the difference between the two motherboards or if my 500w PSU will be able to handle it
i think i need an OS as well as my old parts were from a Packard bell so i assume the OS is tied to the motherboard ?

budget is £400 i could possibly stretch to £450
will be using for Gaming and general use
any help/suggestions welcomed
thanks

ok so my budget has changed slightly :(
what should i be looking at for around £350 doesnt have to be overclocked as i can give that a go myself nor part of a bundle but i still need the same components system is to be used for gaming, thanks for previous replies

are there any places i could save money for little performance loss or spend a small amount more for better quality/spec
sorry for all the questions i don't get the money to spend on this kind of thing very often just want to get the best i can for my money :)

whats another good cooler to go with this?
as i shall be getting the money for this next week and the suggested one is out of stock at the moment

i am still rather worried about how easily the install will go as my old motherboard ram and cpu were parts from a packard bell, will i be able to set up these new components in my case boot up the PC and continue using my old OS and data Previously on the hard drive or will i have to do a full reinstall ?

Is it possible to install the OS onto a partition when i get the new parts and transfer the data overfrom one partition to the other ?

From browsing the forum and suggestions within this thread this is what ive come up with so far is there anyway of reducing this cost ever so slightly by £5-£10 without impacting performance and would i need thermal paste also ?

Hmmm order is still showing as "in our warehouse queue" and i was expecting delivery tomorrow does anyone know how late the orders are picked up for next day delivery ?
all the items are 10+ in stock as far as the site shows. :(

no i checked before i made the order and again today all items said 10+ in stock for immediate dispatch, ive made a post in the customer service forum but it was just after 6pm so a little late to catch anyone still working i guess

Got all my Kit this morning Spent a while getting my case cleaneed up to put it all together and everythings working great, have not tried to OC yet but i will be soon.

One thing thats worrying me is in games im getting great frame rates but in graphically challenging areas the display driver seems to crap out on me now and again, the fans on my graphics card seem to sound like a jet engine just before this happens.

any ideas what this could be? too little psu power or is it a faulty card or something ?

was from my old rig but i only bought the card in january so shouldnt be a problem , i didnt alter any settings in game they were the auto settings for BF3 and in Rift

@IC3 i was going to post pics but its quite a mess at the moment needs a lot of tidying and i was quite eager to test everything out :p

online but when it crashed out the area was pretty clear i was also testing streaming with xsplit at the same time though which may of been an issue.

but in Rift it happened on Min and Max settings so i have no idea what it could be im just getting afterburner reinstalled and im going to see what temps are like just before the crashes

i used it before the upgrade but it made the games almost unplayable , since the upgrade they were fine until the driver stopped responding. i think the main draw of the streaming software is cpu based with just a little on the gpu

just tested out in Rift and drivers crashed again but only when i set the settings from the default ultra settings to minimum which is odd
GPU temps at the time were 70c and about 60% GPU usage from what afterburner was saying

Edit : i wasnt running xsplit at this time
