There's me just sitting on my chair browsing the forums and i hear a creek then I'm on the floor. My chair broke. It was just a regular office chair.

Why should i get a gaming chair over a normal office chair?

I was looking at this one, anyone got one? had one? good or bad? or shall i be nice to the bank and just get a £50 one from ikea or whatever?

In all honesty its down to you, if there's an office supply place near you it might be worth popping down to have a sit in a few. On here you'll get a lot of different opinions, quite a few people swear by a staples Kashmir or an Ikea markus for chairs.

I have a AK Racing Nitro, which is very comfortable and great for spending a long time sat in while gaming, although for day to day use it can be a bit restrictive. ( I.E. it holds you in place while sat forward gaming, but lounging back in the internet is a bit less comfortable) additionally a lot of people find them gaudy and a overpriced, the latter of which id agree with a £199 price tag i think £160-175 would be more acceptable.

Be nice to the bank.

Gaming chairs are for children.

Would personally go and try out some chairs yourself and get the one that feels the most comfortable. Gaming chairs look less comfortable to me and have a premium because they are branded with gaming.

They're definitely overpriced and not to a lot of peoples tastes.

I have a DXRacer and it cost a fair amount, but it is very comfortable and the build quality is good.

Being all black I think that Arozzi chair you linked looks great to be honest. Maybe its worth going to a few places and sitting on a few chairs just to see whats out there and for what price before you buy anything.

Get a ergonomic chair, those gaming chairs are just normal chairs designed to look like bucket seats and because of that the companies charge premium... I would personally get something along the lines of 'Ergo-Tek Mesh Manager Chair', you'll have to use google as its not allowed to post competitors links. I've had DXRacer chair for a bit and sold it, went back to my broken kashmir microfibre. But I'll be most likely buying that chair I mentioned or something along those lines, btw don't be fooled by the marketing that paid youtubers and streamers do for those 'gaming' chairs...

Totally forgot I posted this, but today I went to my local shop and tried a few different chairs and stuff, I tried everything from cheap to really expensive £200+ and the more expensive they got the didn't seem to be very comfy, apart from two, they were so nice but way over what I am willing to pay for a chair. It's like 1/3 of the price of my PC. There was one gaming chair and I see what you mean about being in one position, I didn't like it, I sit in some very odd positions when I am lounging about and it didnt enable me to do that. I walked out with some £75 chair that I found pretty comfy and was able to take it away so I now have a chair! I don't tend to sit down and game for more than 2 hours max and that's all I use it for so I didn't need one that's super comfy all day. I rarely get a numb bum anyway.
But thanks for your help guys :)

I have a £60 ikea chair, and I love it.

I used to spend £200+ every couple of years on a new chair from Staples or similar, now I think I must have been mad!

After being off for half of today, my new chair seems pretty comfy! And off all day tomorrow playing The Witcher 3 so hopefully it'll hold my fat ass all day :D

I got a full mercedes clk leather interior for less than that off ebay. I got the 2 front seats made some wooden bases for them to screw onto and castors on the bottom. Everyone that tries them says they are the most comfortable computer chairs they ever tried. Plus as they are from a sports model all the recliners, lumbar and height adjusters are manual so you can adjust them.

:D

Glad yours is comfy though! :p

My dad works in an accident repair shop, I could have got a merc chair from him!

Would have been cool. May still try and get hold of one. Would be something fun to do.
