Hi, i was wondering if anyone can help me out. I am looking a half decent gaming computer. The max i want to spend is about £500 or just over. i am going to build it myself. so if anyone could help that would be great.

thanks Stuart

Oliver Renault, you are posting I5's now? :D

Anyway I did the same as you to an extent and went AMD and am very happy with it :)

Whoops! Dont know why, but I thought you were someone else, that guy that built the AMD rig even though he had about £1k to do it :D Sorry!

Quiet enough.

You could probably run the GPU at 10% at 40C fan speed at idle, so basically inaudible (I would suggest you change the fan profile as it is probably set on 'loud', like my 7970). Then ramping up to 40% at 65C, which would be the expected temperature at full load.

And I wouldn't worry about the PSU, it's made by one of the best company in the business. You may want a CPU cooler for better temps, overclocking, or noise performance, and of course, an extra case fan at the front for airflow.

The Merc Beta has no fan emplacement for the roof. Not necessary a bad thing, if you are worried about stuff falling into the case, or getting dusty. But for that, you can always place something on top to block the vents.

okay. thats much appreciated :D One last question will this run minecraft?
