Really out of the loop re latest hardware could do with some help please.

System for my 15 year old son who wants to venture into pc gaming.

Has monitor 19" 1366 x 768 I think dont need OS or Hard Drive

Budget £300 dont mind intel or amd TIA

Better PSU I think too, XFX are very good PSUs (rebranded Seasonic). The case is out of stock, but a similar priced one will be fine.

Graphics card seems Ideal, how good is the CPU ok for games ? and the MB takes the latest Intel CPUs if he upgrades later in the year ?

Yes that CPU is quite good I think:

It will take all the 1155 CPUs, but it won't overclock them. For that you'd need a Z68 motherboard (min ~£85)

just need to settle on a nice case in or around budget.

Any amd systems can match the above price performance ?

Don't think so, and Intel has the better upgrade path atm. I'd suggest sticking and i3 in their when you can afford it.
