I'm going to be giving my 2500k chip to my son's system so I need a replacement CPU. I could get another 2500k as mine has served me well but I can't help but feel that if i'm going to be replacing it I might as well take a step forward. I have a Z77 board and I have 3 options in CPU choice...
I was in a similar situation and installed my i5 2500 CPU into my girlfriends new build while i kept the new 3570K for my PC... I've not noticed any difference in perfomance whatsoever, but i've noticed my 3570K runs a couple of degrees warmer than my old 2500 (using the same cooler and same type of thermal paste). At least now i have official DDR3 1600 support and PCI-E 3.0
