Got around £300-£400 to spend on a CPU, Mobo & RAM, just want best bang for buck really, upgrading from an old dual core.
 
i think you should go i5 personally look at getting asus maximus 3 mobo i5 oc got in sale this week and patirot sector 5 ram

since the processor is oem i would get a h50 to get a decent over clock out fo it

I have been looking at i5. Could you recommend a cheaper Mobo though?
 
the msi gd65 is a good mobo and a lot cheaper than the asus, which is more for overclockers and power users
